Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies The Real Dev Shop ("we," "us," or "our") uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things about your visit, like whether you're logged in or what preferences you've set.
2. Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary No consent required
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Keeps you logged in, maintains your CSRF protection token and shopping session. | 30 days idle |
Functional Consent required for persistent use
These cookies improve accuracy and experience but are not strictly required. With your consent we keep them for 30 days; without it, we still set a temporary version that disappears when you close your browser.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
rds_vid |
Prevents the same browser from inflating a product's view count by viewing it repeatedly within an hour. Used only for anti-abuse accuracy of seller metrics — never for advertising or cross-site tracking. | 30 days with consent, otherwise for the current browser session only |
trds_consent_token |
Remembers your cookie preference choice so we don't ask again on every visit, before you've created an account. | 12 months |
Analytics Consent required
These cookies are only ever set after you grant analytics consent, and are used to give sellers aggregate traffic insights (store visitors, referrer/device/country breakdowns) — never to identify you individually to a seller.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
trds_aid |
Anonymous identifier used to correlate page views during your visit for seller-facing traffic analytics (e.g. counting "unique visitors" without identifying who they are). Never linked to your account or buyer identity in any report a seller can see. Deleted immediately if you withdraw analytics consent. | 12 months |
Marketing / Advertising
We do not display third-party advertising and do not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies.
3. Managing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time on the Cookie Preferences page, available from the cookie banner and from this page. Strictly necessary cookies can't be turned off, since the Platform can't function without them.
4. Deleting Cookies via Your Browser
You can also delete cookies directly through your browser settings:
Note that deleting the PHPSESSID cookie will log you out, and deleting
trds_consent_token means we'll ask for your cookie preferences again on your next visit.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we change the cookies we use in a way that affects your consent (for example, introducing a new analytics cookie), we'll update this page and ask for your consent again via the cookie banner.
